Cataract is the clouding of the natural lens present in the eye. This process is usually encountered in patients after 40-45 years but in some cases, it may present at a younger age too. In infants associated with other abnormalities, cataract maybe be present at birth also. Immediate treatment with surgery is necessary for adequate development of vision in young children.
Cataract surgery is a procedure to remove the lens of your eye and, in most cases, replace it with an artificial lens.
Glaucoma slowly damages the eyes and can causes vision loss.
Dr. Priya Narang presented a Live Surgery session at the Middle East Ophthalmology Meeting and Presbyopia Meet and North Africa foundation (PresMENA) held at Dubai on 21 October 2023. She presented a challenging case on subluxated traumatic cataract with traumatic mydriasis. She performed lensectomy with vitrectomy with Glued IOL with pupilloplasty for the case.
